Furthermore, hard water does not go well with soap and other detergents. It is really hard to use in washing clothes because the organic acid from the soap and detergents reacts with the minerals in it. On the contrary, soft water works well with this acid and easily creates foams for a better cleaning process.
The good news is, hard water can be transformed into soft water with various processes. The usual processes are treating it with lime or passing it through a water softener.
